If you've been to Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, or China... then you must have heard of Mochi Sweets! With its inception in Hong Kong last 2009 by J Sweets, it lead from one thing to another and then BAM! It became a hit all throughout Asia! It expanded to countries such as Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, and more. And now, here's one good news for foodies like me! Mochi Sweets has now landed in Manila!
What sets them apart from all the existing mochi stores in the metro? Well, with Mochi Sweets, you are assured that you'll be eating mochi that's made from the best ingredients! It's said that they have meticulous control over ensuring that the quality of their products are consistent: so yes my lovelies, you're welcome to their superb quality and taste!
Their mochis will be as luxurious and flavorful as it could be; made up of cream and then wrapping it in chewy mochi skin! If I have to put it into words, when you bite into their treats, you'll first encounter the mochi's covering that has just about the right kind of stickiness and moisture, and then it would be followed by the frozen cream that would have a delightful texture that is much like mousse...!
Garry Cheng, the President of J Sweets from Hong Kong, was in Manila during the launching of Mochi Sweets' first kiosk in the SM Mall of Asia and he said and promised that Mochi Sweets is of the premium kind. Apparently, they have a Japanese chef who creates these delectable sweets and they surely use 100% Japanese Mochi. And of course, worthy to note are the business partners who have brought Mochi Sweets to us! Jason Yap and Samatha Paz!
The Mochi Sweets Experience!
Mochi Sweets comes as frozen so when you order them, you'll have to wait for 10-15 minutes for it to thaw. (Don't try gnawing at it instantly, trust me; or else you might get bleeding gums or teeth! Personal experience. LOL, hello gluttony!). You might be thinking, "Whaaat, that long? What if the ice cream inside it already melts by then?!"
No worries, because Mochi Sweets is not prone to messy meltdowns! That's good news for those people who are planning to take these out! And oh, speaking of take outs, you can buy a box of Mochi Sweets that could either include 6 or 12 pieces.
Now here's the sweetest part: the flavors!!! They have a lot of 'em! They have Chocolate Mousse, Cream Chocolate, Dark Chocolate, Caramel Macchiato, Strawberry Mousse, Mango Yogurt, Honey Lemon, Sakura, Green Tea, Durian Mousse, etc.! To be exact, Mochi Sweets currently has 17 flavors... and growing!
So what are you waiting for? Drop by their first kiosk at SM Mall of Asia! They're just near the Ice Skating Rink! Within this quarter, they'll also be opening news stores at Robinsons Galleria and Eastwood Mall. (And in 2013, they're said to open up in SM Aura which will open in BGC, my favorite city!)
